When we Join the Journey to become healthier and lose weight, self-care is one of the most important areas to pay special attention to.
Self-care is all about meeting your physical, emotional, mental and spiritual needs.
It is about replenishing our energy, comforting ourselves without using food.
It helps us regroup and take responsibility for ourselves.
When we look after ourselves, we begin to disconnect the link between our feelings and using food to manage them.
The options are endless:
Walking, taking an exercise or yoga class, making regular appointments with the doctor or dentist, resting and getting enough sleep, prepping healthy food, are all important ways to take care of your body;
Meditating, reflecting, listening to music, connecting with loved ones, laughing, are examples of how to support yourself emotionally;
Writing in your diary, reading, doing some research into topics you enjoy, spending time with friends and family, setting limits, strengthen your mental health;
Worshiping, walking in nature, being mindful, connecting with the deepest part of you, taps into your spiritual world.
Self-care is a priority.
